Bigfoot Remains Elusive

Newspaper

current event by VnutZ on 20 August 2008, tagged as bigfoot, supernatural, and mystery

People have claimed to see giant ape-men for decades and hunting for the elusive Sasquatch or Bigfoot has occupied idle time for both the obsessed and the curious. A recent claim of discovering Bigfoot's corpse, a 500 pound, 7 foot tall 500 pound body was refuted as being just another rubber suit in a box. Somehow, the hunters from Georgia that claimed to find the body managed to finagle enough Internet hype around their find to actually be featured on CNN's front page, proclaiming noted scientists would examine the body to establish its legitimacy. Apparently, the frozen suit seemed lifelike until it actually thawed and the hunters discovered they had simply found a Bigfoot costume.

They found it in Georgia? by NomadSoul :: NR6

The fact that they found it in Georgia should have been a clue that it was fake. The legends of the Sasquatch always put it on the North West coast; Washington, Oregon, British Columbia, where it is found in Native mythology. I can't say I'm a believer, but if they were to find one, it would probably be there, not on the other side of the continent.

I for one hope they do find one someday. The world would be a much more interesting place if they did. Of course, if I were a bigfoot, I wouldn't want to be found, knowing how modern humanity tends to treat animal life.
