On Music

Well, consistently I listen to Contemporary Christian and Country (though I sometimes nostaglically head back to my favorite bands from the 70's). some of my favorites are:

  • Lincoln Brewster Worship team leader and Musician/singer/songwriter. One of the most God talented (thank you Lord)young musicians in the Christian music scene today. His music makes your heart sing.
  • Chris Tomlin (and we share the same middle name too)The worship songs that God inspires him to write are phenominal--they lead your heart right to the Lord; and often bring me to tears.
  • The Newsboys Fabulous muscians from Down Under, their praise and worship music certainly gets my feet dancing for the Lord.
  • Matt Goss Band The Other Matt Goss--from nearby Lancaster PA. Worship Team leader for LCBC (Lancaster County Bible Church). Excellent musician.
  • Casting Crowns Lifesong, Voice of Truth, If We are the Body They pierce right to the heart: It's not religion, it's a relationship.
  • Toby Keith Simple sounds of the country, 'manly' songs but a lot of fun to listen to.
  • Brooks and Dunn Kix Brooks and Ronny Dunn first caught my attention with Red Dirt Road; all about the important things in life.
  • Big and Rich Big Kenny and John Rich, Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy..and they did a cover of You Shook Me All Night Long..'nuff said.
  • Sugarland The sweet vocals of Jennifer Nettles on songs such as Baby Girl, Everyday America and Something More kept me coming back for more

Other artists of note: Meatloaf (it's not a concert, it's a PERFORMANCE), Rush (Neal Peart is the bloody best percussionist in music left alive today.), Bob Seger (waited 18 hours once for tickets), Styx, REO Speedwagon. I will also listen to and own most anything from the heyday of Motown--Sam and Dave, Smokey Robinson, The Supremes, etc. I dearly enjoy the age of Jazz/Swing or Blues; and most of the Beatles catalog--and am old enough to remember hearing 'Let it Be' on the radio.

On Television

Mostly I'm into Criminal Forensics shows, such as the CSI's, but I also like 'The Closer', and am a HUGE fan of 'Numb3rs'. I also like to watch Jack Bauer kick terrorist tail on '24'. I think most reality shows are the bane of TV, with the exceptions of 'Hells Kitchen' (I may not like his use of foul language; but the man is GOOD), 'Dinner Impossible', 'Iron Chef (all incarnations)', and the finals of 'American Idol'. One also cannot fail to mention 'Good Eats'..Alton Brown--a nerdy cook (he doesn't consider himself a chef). My only beef is that the man needs a REAL motorcyle..Harley Davidson baby..

This summer, I had the opportunity to watch Season One of the New Doctor Who. I was hooked from the first episode. I'm actually impressed with the scripts most of the time, and the fact that they are allowing The Doctor to come of of his 'shell'..Of course, that may have something to do with the fact that he is the last of his people---maybe. I could really feel that they allowed him to feel sadness at the abrupt departure of Rose Tyler. I've seen all but Season Three (now on Sci-Fi) and a handful of episodes from Season two.

On Vehicles

Cars:

I have to admit, I'm not much of a car geek. If it goes from A-B and gets reasonable mileage, then it's ok with me.

Trucks

What can I say, THIS is a truck. I first saw it on Trick My Truck--Ultimate Talgating Edition. All I can say is...WOW...

Motorcycles

Harley Davidson, all the way. Born and Bred in the USA for the last 105 years.

Boats

Now here I have a dilemma.. I enjoy boating, but I prefer power to sail (sail is fun, but it's a lot of work.) I'd have say, however, that my favorite one is this
